The Ramsey Music Society, formerly the Ramsey Grammar School Music Club, has been flourishing since September 1974, when Mr Jack Pick, Head of Music at the Ramsey Grammar School, created it.
Mr Pick’s intention was to fill a gap in the cultural life of Ramsey and to make professional standard classical music available to the school’s students.
Amongst its supporters at the school, was Mr John Christal, a former Principal of the School.
Over the years, many fine artists have performed for the Society including the late Colin Horsley, a local resident and its President, Julian Lloyd-Webber, Alicja Fiderkiewicz, Claire Jones, a recent Prince of Wales’ Harpist, Matthew Jones and Annabel Thwaite, Gary Ryan, Laura van der Heijden, 2012 Young Musician of the Year, and the Kandinsky and Kegelstatt Trios.
All students enjoy free entry. If you have any particular questions about concerts for this season please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the President, Ms Ella Slack, 812896.
